Blume Sader Plate

Blume Sader Plate

Product Design

The Hello Mazel team approached me with the challenge to create a Passover plate that was lightweight and can be easily shipped. Passover is the holiday of the Jewish exodus story from slavery to freedom, so it seemed fitting to create a plate that is accessible to everyone, modular and free to change and move as it pleases. Spring and renewal are also important themes, that were incorporated into the design.

This is a beautifully letter pressed sader plate that can be used anywhere and on any surface. A blind-embossed pattern on high-quality paper stock and text printed in gold-foil ink adds texture and elegance. Each Letterpress Seder Plate arrives compactly packaged with seven hexagon-shaped pieces. Six feature the name of a symbolic seder food; one features the Hebrew word Pesach, meaning Passover. Arrange the pieces together or spread them across the seder table. Glass bowls (sold separately) can be used on top of the hexagons for holding the symbolic foods. Printed in CA by Oakland Press.

The plate is also available for purchase at the New York Jewish Museum shop!
