CONTEXT

Adults but especialy young children have a hard time understanding the concept of time. What if there was a way to help them see time to gain that undestanding? 


CHALLENGE

Our product focuses on young users, and some adults to help them see time more visually.

The existing timer apps are too complex for them to undestand. How can we make time, and time keeping fun, visually appealing and turn into a game.
 


OUR APPROACH

Our team was eager to learn about how young kids (1 to 10) and their caregivers use timers regularly and with what purpose. In addition, we needed to determine the short-term emotional impact the timers have as a tool to achieve a long-term goal and face everyday challenges, so we could use this data to create our app.


We wanted to:


  1. Design a simple, intuitive, and functional app.
  2. Learn more about the product and discover new ways to create more compelling visualizations.
  3. Empowered users to understand time.


My design process to solve this project followed 4 steps.
